Kakashi dropped out of the canopy of trees in a gasp of mute horror and slammed into the wave of dark-green foliage underneath.
He laid there, motionless. Breathing heavily behind the animal mask tied over his half covered face and stitched that disturbing thought together in his mind, until it corresponded with his accepted fate.
He had been making excellent progress since his departure from the small village cocooned in the mountain ridge but now,...
Kakashi laid out on a bed of decomposing leaves and broken wooden vines that wound in between layers of grey pebbles, grass and trees. He had his arms tucked and bent close to his white vest, and as for his legs, they were strewn out carelessly before him but moveable.
His hands and under arms fared out pretty well. Cut up only from the sharp corners that had splintered his fall from the broken wooden vines and pebbles that littered the moss and leaf infested earth top.
But Kakashi couldn't shake, that it still felt like a layer of super glue had been poured over him, keeping him firmly in place, regardless of his minor injuries from the fall.
When he tried moving his arm, pain laced through the offending limb. Next his fingertip went numb. But worse of the symptoms he was experiencing, Kakashi felt like he was going to vomit the light lunch he had before he departed the Inn he had been crashing at.
Kakashi wondered along the lines, how far along had the poison penetrated his body and spoilt it with its toxic venom. If it was his father who was in this complicated situation,.. would he call for assistance or continue on with the mission, alone? After all, in the world of a ninja, they were only mere tools for the disposal of their country for the purpose of completing missions assigned and although his sensei said ninja's needed to adapt in a situation when it arises, in his case, it seemed futile.
As much as he knew, Kakashi was sure there was no known antidote for the serum that was eating away at his nervous system. Seeping away his strength in an agonizing slow pace and breaking his mental barriers of endurance. He could not escape the truth that he was in tremendous amount of pain but Kakashi did find solace in the fact that he wasn't entirely alone.
Obito was with him and although not in form but in eye of representation. After the loss of his friend, the world around him changed. By having the Sharingan, which Obito gave as a gift to him before their parting, he learnt that it made his senses even more sharper if that was possible and the Sharingan opened up a gate of emotions that erupted in a collapse of his mental system that was now easily reachable to his heart to bomber him with.
By the way Kakashi was now, he was useless to anyone's purposes, and accepted this offered closure of death as repaid dues to the end of a soldier that otherwise couldn't make the two enjoining sides meet to correspond, as his eyes began to flutter shut in oblivion.
Kakashi renounced all that was given to him and made room for a new legend that would overlook the village and bask it with its protective wing.
To be continued,..
